Your computer should be able to handle that without issue. Make sure you look into partitioning a hard drive and installing an OS on one if you don't know how.

There isn't. You just have to make sure you use the right connector (IDE or SATA) and the right size of drive (desktops use 3.5" drives, laptops use 2.5" drives)

HP Pavilion A310n
Product introduction date
16-Sept-03
This is an old computer that has a motherboard that doesn't support 48-bit LBA.
With 48-bit LBA technology disk drives can now be built with capacities greater than 137 GB. The 48-bit LBA enhancement to the ATA interface means system software can now access data beyond the 137 GB limit.

First of all just open up your computer and look at the power cables and see if you have a sata connector on your power supply and if so then you can use sata or if not then go with IDE. There is no limit on the amount of hard drive a computer can handle as long as your power supply can handle it. Just make sure and to look at the specs and be sure to find the right drive for your computer

Hard drives have no limitations on size. Just make sure you have the right connection. Either SATA or IDE (PATA).
