That will give him a good start!  I would get a desktop rather than a laptop.  You get much more for your money; easier to upgrade, and last longer.  Keep in mind that the state-of-the-art computer system you get today, will be outdated, but still functional in 4 years.  The conventional computers that everyone uses today will be replaced with a &quot;super&quot; cell phone in less than 10 years!
I would let your son pick out the computer.</description>
