How Do You Keep Your Computer Cool While Watching Videos/movies?
I just got the MLB tv and everytime i watch a game, the computer shuts down because it gets overheated. How can i keep the computer cool during these three hour games without buying a cooling station?

Understand that when a computer overheats, it forces the cooling fans inside it work much harder in order to dissipate the heat. Overheating has the capability of damaging and even melting important components such as the CPU.
Solutions to the problems:
1) Make sure your CPU fan and graphics card fan is clear of dust, and working with maximum performance. Dust will make the fan unable to efficiently dissipate heat. Also, do not cover up the fans in the computer. Make sure, they can absorb fresh cool air.
2) Make sure passive coolers are dust free.
3) Make sure the inside and outside of your entire computer case is dust free.
4) Clear dust off any inside computer components.
5) Make sure the room the computer is in, is well ventilated. Open up the room windows and open the door of the room.
6) Do not use your computer on a scorching hot day. Make sure you have an Air Conditioner. Also, use a standard house fan to keep the room cool.
I highly recommend you to take your computer to any trustworthy electronics store, so they can help clean and install components to help deal with the overheating issue. Do not attempt to fix the computer by yourself if you have no knowledge of fixing computers, or you will damage your computer.
You can either clean your case, usually its very dusty inside and cleaning it helps air ventilate around your computer.
And if you have a graphics card (ATI or Nvidia), you can usually turn the fan to a higher lever that it can keep it cool.
You can also move your computer to a cooler area part of the house.

Make sure that your fan is running that covers your processor. For me I have the same problem because my fan doesn’t connect to the board very well. For a short fix I lay my computer on its side and let gravity keep the fan on the motherboard. If your fan is loose you might want to secure it or buy a new one.
Buy a new computer with dual cooling fans. It’s either that or the cooling station you’re so reluctant to purchase. And you’d be better off with the new ‘puter, ‘cuz the one you gots is about to become totally obsolete, and will then be worse than useless.

i have my tower out in the open with a fan pointed at the tower and me. it seems to help , also blow out your vents on your tower every few weeks with some canned air.
LOL… maybe u need cooling pad or cooling fan to cool down the heat…
Or u want to use stupid way…
use your air-condition(air-cond) or fan to cool down the heat
Buy a better computer next time.
