How Can I Connect A Computer With Win Vista To Another With Xp?

I have a laptop with windows vista home premium and another computer with windows xp professional. I need to connect them in order to move a lot of files from one to another. I don’t want to setup a complex network. I just want a simple way to exchange files between the two computers.

  1. Many options:
    * Peer to peer ethernet cable is one option (note a different then a regular network cable).
    * Peer to peer USB cable may work also.
    * Internet file sharing can also work.
Just remember, XP must have SP2 to work the connectivity, otherwise it wont work.
    * You can also get a USB gig drive (the easiest).
    * You can also swap the hard drive from one machine to the other.

    hi there
a simple way is to get a cross over ethernet cable and connect to the rj45 port on each machine
alternatively if u have a router just connect both to the router, make sure both are on the same workgroup then create a shared folder
