How To Transfer Itunes Onto External Hard Drive?

I want to transfer all my itunes onto an external hard drive. I don’t mean just my library but the actual itunes program as well so that I can delete it all off of my internal hard drive. I’ve googled how to do it and all I can find is how to transfer your library to the external hard drive but not the actual itunes software…help anyone?

  1. transfer the library to the external drive
    check all your music is there
    now go to add and remove software and remove it
    reboot then re -install it (click custom install)
    then browse to external drive and install it
    in doing this the bulk of the program will be on the external but some files will be in the c: drive
