How To Connect An Old Hard Drive To A New Computer?
My old computer isn’t working anymore, and hasn’t been since soon after my warranty expired. It’s a relatively new Acer computer. Anyway, I’m going to be buying a new computer since fixing the old one would cost more than I bought it for, but I have some important files on the old computer. Would I be able to connect its hard drive to the new computer? How would I go about doing so?

Yes. Now what type of connection connects to your harddrive? A sata cable? IDE cable? When you get your new computer, you can take out you HD out of your computer (refer to your computer manual).
Then connect that old hard drive to your new computer. You could have two internal hard drives you know. :]
Or you could connect your old hard drive then copy files over to your new hard drive and sell the old HD on ebay.
One additional option not discussed by Tommy T is using the old drive as an external drive. A external drive enclosure or a USB hard drive adapter. I’ve had a hd adapter for some time and have used it in situations such as yours. The link is to the one I have ($15 @ Fry’s).http://kingwin.com/products/cate/accesso…
Good luck
