How Do I Delete My Hard Drive If My Motherboard Is Fried?

My motherboard on my laptop has fried and not longer working. My laptop will not even boot. I want to sell it for parts, but want to make sure that my hard drive is cleared before doing so. What is the best way to do so?

  1. Take out the hard drive and save it. You can put it into a USB external hard drive enclosure and use it on your new machine. Enclosures run from about $10 to $80 depending on where you buy it.

  2. remove it
stick it into multiple plastic bags
    find a big rock
good luck trying to sell a laptop for parts
if you do the ebay way you will most likely lose money in the long run

  3. Download his Freeware Secure Erase Utility, read the ReadMe file and you’re good to go.http://cmrr.ucsd.edu/people/Hughes/Secur…
