What Measures Can I Take To Prevent My Computer From Overheating?
My sister recently gave me a computer to work on because she got herself a laptop for school. Everything is now working tip top shape now except the processor keeps overheating. After having the computer on for ten minutes you can hear the fan go into high and then a few minutes after that the computer just shuts off, i cleaned out the whole system including the heat sink and it still happens, should i get a bigger fan? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance

Well if the processor is over clocked, that could be the reason for the over heating.
If it does not overheat with the case side off the computer while it is running, then you don’t have good enough ventilation in the computer case.
If it is worth putting the money into it, you could always get a liquid cooling heatsink. It would keep your processor nice and cool, but could cost some money.
