How Basic Can A Pc Be Just To Use On The Internet?

I am looking for a very cheap basic PC just for internet use. If it gets badly infected ect I will just replace it.
My main expensive PC will then never go on the internet so should be a lot more protected.

  1. About as basic as you can get:
    Pentium 200Mhz processor
    32MB of memory
    2GB HDD
    CD-RW
    modem/network card
    4MB video card (ISA, PCI, or AGP)
    Windows 95 or Windows 98
    That will go on the internet and that’s about it. It will be a terrible computer compared to today’s standards, but it will work.

  2. Why would you want to waste your money replacing a computer that has become infected by a virus, malware or whatever? No mater if it cost $100, that is waste of your money! All you have to do is use trusted web sites and install and use regularly the “free” anti virus protections, anti malware and other free software like Spy-bot Search and destroy, etc. It doesn’t matter what the cost of a computer is, if it gets hammered by viruses and malware right away, it will be so slow to operate you won’t want to use the internet and you’ll be buying a computer weekly! Just use the programs you see others recommending on this site to protect your computer and you’ll enjoy your internet experience. Good luck!

    the real is you don’t have to spec it but find the cheapest it ready to internet if the computer do not have modem, buy it
    Minimum (Very minimum) i think:
    Pentium 3
    Windows 98/xp/vista/linux
    128 mb ram
    Recommend:
    Intel Dual Core
    Windows xp/vista/linux
    512 mb ram
    if you have money:
    Intel Core i7 Extreme 965
    Windows vista/mac
    4 gb ram

  4. get linux on a usb flash drive on any computer. have the flash read only. linux don’t get infected.

  5. if your talk how bad can they get (im talking horribly bad) at least a computer that can run windows 95. so about 100mb of ram and 600mzh processor speed

  6. If u only want internet on urs u should get a netbook they are so cheap ^^

  8. Try getting one of those netbook things. They’re from 100-500 dollars.
