How Can I Erase The Hard Drive Of A Laptop?

I need to erase the hard drive of my Viao laptop running XP. I want to keep the operating system intact and simply permanently erase all the personal data and programs. It’s being sent away and so I need every thing permanently deleted. How do I do this and do I need to download a program to do so. If so, what program?

  1. Erase using Darik’s Boot and Nuke then re-install XP.

    Reinstall your windows disk?

  3. u need not down load any program just simply select all your files and press shift+del

  4. The only way to do this would be to wipe everything with a program such as Killdisk (http://www.killdisk.com) and then reinstall Windows.
