Can My Memory Stick Get Affected By A Virus Infected Computer?

I recently put my memory stick into the input on one of my old computers. I was planning on writing some stuff up for homework on it, since my new computer was under repairs. However, I totally forgot that the computer had a virus. So my question is; is my memory stick now going to be infected by the virus my computer has? I simply inserted the stick, I never actually put anything on it, or took anything off.

  1. it can I’ve seen them get into the bios all depends on the bug most likely not but I would definitely scan it if it came from an infected computer I would just format it to be on the safe side

  2. The Conficker worm can use USB sticks to spread itself around, it’s automatic.
You can read what Wikipedia has to say:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conficker
You can use Microsoft’s Malicious Software Removal Tool (if you have it) to scan your drive for the files the worm uses:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malicious_s…
    Click Start
    Click Run
    Type MRT
    Press Enter.

  3. It might. Some viruses are meant to spread like that. Once I put a memory stick into a friends computer and got 500 viruses after I scanned it for viruses. There’s still a chance that there isn’t a virus though..

  4. still possible even if you did not open it the virus can access it on its own clean out the old computer and disinfect the stick

  5. it can happen.
