CP3505dn Toner Made For Your Workgroup

The HP Color LaserJet CP3505dn printer is another of HP’s printers that is designed for use with a small office or workgroup. It includes both a standard print driver, as well as an alternative driver that allows you to do a print preview. A unique feature allows you to connect to a website that will calculate the cost of printing a large job in house or sending it out for printing so that you will be able to save the most money.

This printer is part of a family of three printers in the CP3505 line from HP. The CP3505n is the base model that does only single sided prints. The CP3505dn adds the duplex unit (two sided prints) to the features of this machine. The CP3505x includes both the duplex unit and a second paper tray that increases the paper capacity to 850 sheets of paper. That same tray can be purchased as an option for the CP3505n or CP3505dn. The duplex unit cannot be purchased separately. Other than these two features, the machines are identical.

While the printer is smaller than some workgroup printers, it is still too large to be used on most desks. It also weighs approximately 60 pounds, so some help moving it into place will be appreciated. Once out of the packaging, just plug in the cables and cords and allow the printer to automatically set itself up on your network.

Most users of this printer will find that the print quality is good, especially when printing text. One problem that may be noticeable is that sometimes adjacent letters such as an r and a t may touch in some fonts. Still, for most business correspondence, the print is more than adequate.

Graphics and color prints sometimes show a small amount of graininess and places where there may be unevenness that is very slight. Most graphics, however, work well with this machine.

Prints of photos seem to also be good. The resulting prints should work fine for newsletters or handouts. Photos taken from Web pages print well and look as good as or better than they do on the Internet.

The estimator is actually access to a web page that is useful in letting you know the cheapest way to produce your prints. While this may not matter in smaller quantities, if you are making several hundred or thousand prints, the savings of a few pennies can add up. The program takes into account the amount of coverage of toner on the page. The program does not take into account the man hours used in producing the prints.

The alternative print view driver that allows for print preview allows the user to see what the prints will look like before printing. This is helpful if you need to adjust settings to get the best possible view of your prints.

Most offices or work groups will be pleased with this HP device using CP3505dn compatible toner. It is less expensive than some of the printers that HP describes as their top of the line printers, while the HP replacement toner offers value per page by basically removing the need for reprints. Price reductions online are available when buying toner and ink cartridge.
